Dugort Pier
Cruising north with Inishkea Island and Blacksod Lighthouse in the horizon, we hug the bottom of Slievemore mountain. We will pass by Achills once famous seal caves, which in the early 1900's had a large seal population but due to hunting and over fishing in the area, numbers have greatly depleated over the last centuary. However, on rare occasions seals can still be seen soaking up the sun on the rugged coastline. From here we round the point getting in close to the large cliffs and crevices of Slievemore, taking us to one of the most secluded white sanded beaches on the Island, Annagh. We'll turn to make our way home at the back of Croughan cliffs and if sea conditions permit we will pop our nose out to have a look at the stunning views of one of europes highest cliffs. On our return we will point out Blackrock light house and other interesting markers on the islands around us.
